Government Affairs

The Utah Association of Independent Insurance Agents (UAIIA) is active in local government affairs. UAIIA's Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors and Legislative Committee to review current legislation and serve as an advocate for independent insurance agents.
Our association also works with Lyons and Associates, a lobbying organization to assist with lobbying efforts. Watch our website during the legislature for updates on insurance bills we are watching.

UAIIA stays current on regulatory issues by meeting at least quarterly with Utah State Insurance Commissioner D. Kent Michie, the Deputy and Assistant Commissioners and his Department Heads.
